What gets collected, why, and how to make it stop.

The short version

This site doesn’t track you around the internet. There are no advertising pixels, no data brokers, and nothing is sold to anyone. The only personal information collected is an email address, and only if you type one into the signup form yourself.

What’s collected

Your email address, if you subscribe. That’s it — no name required, no other fields.

Anonymous page statistics. Which pages get visited, roughly where in the world from, and what site linked here. This is aggregate and cannot be traced back to you as an individual.

Standard server logs. The web server records requests, including IP addresses, as essentially all web servers do. These rotate out and aren’t used to build a profile of anyone.

What isn’t

• No advertising or retargeting pixels
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your address with anyone
• No cross-site tracking
• No account, no password, nothing to breach

Who else is involved

A few third parties necessarily see something when you use this site:

• Kit stores the email list and sends the newsletter.
• Spotify serves the music player on the Music page. Spotify sets no cookie unless you press play.
• YouTube serves video embeds, loaded through youtube-nocookie.com so nothing is set until you press play.
• Hostinger hosts the server.

Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what they do with what they see.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. If you play an embedded track or video, that provider may set one — which is why those embeds don’t load anything until you actually press play.

Your email, your call

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, no confirmation page, no “are you sure,” no survey. You can also write to mailer@solacehouse.me and ask to be removed, or ask what’s on file, or ask for it to be deleted entirely. Any of those is fine and none of them requires a reason.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect anything from them. Some of what’s published here is written for adults.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and subscribers get told. It won’t change quietly.
