Grab Me By The Collar
When the floor gives out
And just like that, I’m a slave again. A slave to passion. A slave to desire.
From one thing to the next, the mind betrays me. My flesh eats itself. Like nitrogen in the soil, feeding my passions until they choke out everything else — out of control.
Lord, grab me by the collar. Save me from the things I keep reaching for, even now — even knowing where they lead.
I need to slow down. To be still and wait on You. I need You — but the broken cisterns feel so much closer. So much sweeter.
Heal my heart. Heal my mind. Reset my tastes and break these habits.
No — give me the strength to break these chains once more.
Break me free. But if not — let me make my mark against the enemy even in my chains. Restore me the way You restored Samson: let me pull the whole house down before I serve this thing one more day.
Work out Your purpose in me. I am Your servant. All I have is Yours. Thank You for lending me this time.
